You need to provide more info here, take a look at /var/log/messages
to see what happens when you try to make a connection. Also are you
sure this isn't a winmodem ?
You best bet is to use minicom to dial your ISP to ensure you can at
least make a connection then use something like Diald,Ezppp, Linuxconf
to setup your ppp connection.

I think this is a problem NIC since I have seen quite a few questions
about this one, however that doesn't mean it won't work.

This looks like a wordperfect install and sounds like you just don't
have enough disk space available. Remember you have the complete
package and RPM will install it taking more than double the disk
space.
