I've been playing around with RH 5.1 up until now. I've probably
installed it and reinstalled it 7 or 8 times, just playing with settings,
not caring if I destroy the system. It's been fun and a great learning
experience.
Anyways, I'm ready to get serious now. I'm first going to try to find a 1
to 2 GB hard drive for Linux. I just don't need 5.7 MB that you find at
the computer shops. Hope to find a surplus computer joint here in Austin.
I would like to break up my /usr filesystem into /usr, /usr/local,
/usr/bin, etc.
A) Is this wise?
B) How large should these be?
I'll probably set aside 50 to 100 MB for /
5 to 20 MB for /home (it's just for me)
16 MB for swap
Thanks,
John
