That's exactly what I'm using now -- I plugged it into the PS/2 mouse port on
the back of my system and it worked normally as a PS/2 mouse. Does it work
correctly as a PS/2 mouse under windoze etc? You could have a defective mouse.
I haven't tried the serial trick, but it would seem logical that if the mouse
was bad, then that would work slowly at best or most likely not at all. Do you
have another PS/2 mouse to try (or can you borrow one)? If anothe PS/2 mouse
didn't work, then that might be a dead giveaway (like perhaps the ps/2 internal
connector isn't plugged in correctly any more... etc.)
