Harry:
If you've got the iBCS module installed you MIGHT be able to run your
xenix binaries, but consider yourself lucky if you can. If they happen
to be COFF binaries (and few xenix binaries are, since it was only the
last couple of minor revs of Xenix that were capable of running COFF, and
as far as I know no SCO development system for xenix would build COFF
binaries), you may be able to run them with iBCS. If they are Xenix/386
binaries it may also be possible though I haven't tried myself. If they
are Xenix/286 binaries you're totally out of luck.
It appears that iBCS actually has code in it for Xenix binaries, but
at least on modern Red Hat systems that code has been disabled. I've never
been able to find out for sure WHY it is disabled, but I think it has
something to do with modern Linuxes being ELF not a.out, and not having
a.out development tools any more so you can't even compile iBCS with
that stuff enabled (at least I couldn't when I tried).
If it turns out that you are able to make it work I'd appreciate it if
you would let me know, or post here, the gory details.
