I assume you didn't really turn your system off with the switch before
the power died. When the power came back, your system rebooted, Linux
started.

Subject: Security Problem?
I use my linux box as a router inbetween my cable modem and internal
non-routable network.
The power went out and my ups was about to die so I issued that command
shutdown -h now.=A0 I had to leave before the power came back on and so =
I
left with my system halted.=A0 I came back and my roommate was using =
his
computer.=A0 I said, "I know, I know, the internet is out" and he said,
"What are you talking about?=A0 The internet is working perfectly"=A0 =
And it
was.
My questions is, if my system is halted doesn't that mean that all the
processes are stopped?=A0 Or shouldn't it?=A0 And, anyway, is this a =
problem
with my specific computer(install?) or not?=A0 This seems to be to be a
huge security threat... but then, what do I know....
