<html><div>I use my linux box as a router inbetween my cable modem and internal
non-routable network.</div>
<br>
<div>The power went out and my ups was about to die so I issued that
command shutdown -h now.&nbsp; I had to leave before the power came back
on and so I left with my system halted.&nbsp; I came back and my roommate
was using his computer.&nbsp; I said, &quot;I know, I know, the internet
is out&quot; and he said, &quot;What are you talking about?&nbsp; The
internet is working perfectly&quot;&nbsp; And it was.</div>
<br>
<div>My questions is, if my system is halted doesn't that mean that all
the processes are stopped?&nbsp; Or shouldn't it?&nbsp; And, anyway, is
this a problem with my specific computer(install?) or not?&nbsp; This
seems to be to be a huge security threat... but then, what do I
know....</div>
