Well, if you didn't delete rpm2cpio also, you can
do the following:

  rpm2cpio rpm-x.x.x.x.rpm | cpio -ivd

and it will give you the tarball.


If you want to see the contents first do this:

  rpm2cpio rpm-x.x.x.x.rpm | cpio -it
