Can you check/change the drive settings in the BIOS? I had this problem
when I put
a 700MB IDE drive where my 1.6 Gig IDE drive once was... I forgot to
change the BIOS settings!! cfdisk tried to tell me my 700MB drive had
1.6 Gig of space on it. It is possable that what the BIOS is telling
fdisk is not what the settings really are. What does DOS fdisk tell you
the settings are? Maybe Micron's power management stuff is also
responsable for taking care of disk partitions (I hate having to rely on
some obscure program to run my machine... without source code your
lost!). I'd check the BIOS, it's probably as simple as that. And don't
forget to write down the old settings if you change it.
