First, the cron logs question:
Lately, I've been getting stuff like this is my /var/log/cron:
root (11/25-02:30:04-11394) MAIL (mailed 106 bytes of output but got
status 0x0040)
(all on one line). I can't seem to find what triggered this. Can
anybody give me a hand or point me in the right direction? BTW, I'm
running Colgate and using sendmail 8.7.6-4.
Now the sound question:
Vlad tried to help me out with this one a while ago. I grabbed the
address, irq, etc. settings for my soundblaster clone card from
Windoze (these worked fine under that OS for months), but I get this in
my /var/log/messages on boot:
-blah- stardust kernel: Sound initialization started
-blah- stardust kernel: sb: Interrupt test on IRQ5 failed - device
disabled
-blah- stardust kernel: <Yamaha OPL3 FM> at 0x388
-blah- stardust kernel: Sound initialization complete
What's making my sound card fail the irq test? Is there a way to fix,
or, that failing, bypassing it?
TIA,
John
