Hi, everybody on the list. I am a new user to Linux and I have just
installed the Redhat 4.0. I have a pentium 166 with 64 MB of RAM. I am
running Metro-X and everything seems fine. However, when I tried to
recompile the kernel for sound card support (SB16) I ran into the following
errors that I have no idea what went wrong. (I have entered the proper IRQ,
DMA etc values during the xconfig process)

Could the gurus on the list kindly shed some light please? Thank you very
much!

The error is as follows:

make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.0.18/drivers/sound'
gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux-2.0.18/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes
-O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strength-reducc
sb_common.c:21: #error You will need to configure the sound driver with
CONFIG_AUDIO option.
sb_common.c:266: warning: `sb16_set_mpu_port' defined but not used
