Matter of opinion. Your lilo.conf only builds partition boot records, not a
master boot record. Here's mine:
boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
image=/vmlinuz
label=linux
root=/dev/hda1
read-only
Compare and contrast the setting of boot= in yours vs. mine. And of course
the example found in man lilo.conf shows this.
