Which one should I delete?

Hi,
I've been moving partitions around here and looking
for duplicate files... which one of those is newer?
[root@borg RPMS]# ls -al netcfg*

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 11348 Nov 6 19:39 netcfg-2.2-2.i386.rpm
[root@borg RPMS]#
[root@borg RPMS]# ls -al pythonl*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 32537 Nov 6 19:40
pythonlib-1.9-1.i386.rpm
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 16990 Nov 6 19:40
pythonlib-1_2-1_i386.rpm
[root@borg RPMS]#
[root@borg RPMS]# ls -al Sys*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 54428 Nov 6 19:38
SysVinit-2.64-3.i386.rpm

Why do some have . as a separator and some have _ ?
I am temporarily unable to query the packages.
