Well, I'm very confused. I've searched both DejaNews and the RedHat
mailing list archives for a clue, and haven't found one yet. Of
course, querying the database the wrong way is certain to give
undesirable results...
Anyway, I cannot get my Realtek 8029 card to be recognized. There's
no IRQ conflicts or anything, and I've rebuilt the kernel (with PCI,
EISA, other card support) and done the LILO thing (including adding
"ether=9,0xd800, whatever" (I don't have those details, but I know the
address and IRQ are correct)).
Running ifconfig eth0 gives "unknown device"
Running "dmesg | grep eth" yields nothing
Running "cat /proc/pci" gives data that conforms to what I've added
into lilo.conf
I'm running Redhat 4.0 with the new 2.0.25 kernel. Everything else
appears just peachy.
I _thought_ I saw something once that indicated that the localhost
stuff needed to change, but I don't have that data anymore :-/
I need some suggestions before I decide Windows NT is a better choice!
(Yeah, and monkeys will fly outta my butt!)
