Ghostscript 4.01 and fonts

I upgraded ghostscript to 4.01 using the rpm in the contrib directory,
because the version shipped with red hat 4.0 did not have the stcolor
device support compiled in it. I also upgraded the fonts rpm as stated
in the errata page on redhat's web site.
After that, ghostscript could not find the fonts. It was looking for
the fonts to be in /usr/lib/ghostscript/fonts but the fonts get
installed in /usr/share/ghostscript/fonts. I temporarily copied the
fonts to /usr/lib/ghostscript/fonts and it works now.
What is the best way to resolve this? I don't want two copies of the
fonts, so should I:
1. delete the fonts from the /usr/share/ghostscript/fonts directory and
leave it alone. Will this cause problems with future rpm updates?
2. delete the fonts from /usr/lib/ghostscript/fonts and create a link
from there to the fonts in the shared directory?
Or will there be updated rpms that work with each other and have
stcolor support?
