swap space limited?

Perhaps I am confused; I think there is some size limit on swap which is
smaller than I need...
I configured hdc (a 490 Meg HD) into 2 partitions; hdc1 and hdc2...
/dev/hdc1 247871 202642 32429 86% /opt
/dev/hdc2 to have the rest....
the kernel sees the drive okay as the next few lines show:
Nov 16 11:58:06 carrizo kernel: hdb: Maxtor 72004 AP, 1916MB w/128kB Cache,
LBA, CHS=973/64/63
Nov 16 11:58:06 carrizo kernel: hdc: M262XT-0Ah, 489MB w/64kB Cache,
CHS=995/16/63
Nov 16 11:58:06 carrizo kernel: hdd: FX400E, ATAPI CDROM drive
Nov 16 11:58:06 carrizo kernel: ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14
Nov 16 11:58:06 carrizo kernel: ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15
However, the swap size seems off to me: but I get this line as the machine
is booting which looks to me like its not giving all of hdc2 to swap:
Nov 16 11:58:06 carrizo kernel: Adding Swap: 130748k swap-space
I think I am losing about 120 Meg;
Is there some arbitrary limit causing this?
How can I get up to 1G swap? Sorry, but its a serious question...
Thanks
