Hi.
I recently installed the Official Redhat 4 on my Pentium (2.0.18)
If I cd over to /usr/src/linux and type "make config" I get :
"No rule to make target 'config'. Stop."
I DID check the prompt to install sources when I installed, but I was
never asked to insert the #2 CD
I have mounted the #2 CD and done rpm -ivh
/mnt/cdrom/SRPMS/kernel-2.0.18-5.src.rpm
Nothing changes on "make config".
I have tried glint, but it maintains there are no rpms in
/mnt/cdrom/SRPMS/
What gives? my /usr/src/linux is a link to /usr/src/linux-2.0.18 which
has only one directory in it called include which has a bunch of asm
subdirectories in it.
How do I:
Install valid source from the CDs including all the associated makefiles
etc
Why is this so hard? I thought rpm was supposed to make it easy! The
users guide, that came with the CD's (yes, I paid money to get this
frustrated!) is of no help. Redhat's web site contains no specific help
on installing the source that I can find.
