I also have a Number Nine 9FX Motion 771 w. 4 MB. I have not yet upgraded
to 4.0, and probably have a differen monitor (Sony 17sfII), so I cannot be
positive that my settings can help you, but for what i't's worth my
XF86Config settings for video card and monitor are below for you to
compare. I use the S3 server.
