fvwm95 taskbar question

I have been scouring the mailing list archives, comp.os.linux.*, and the web
for the answer to a question that I am sure has been asked a thousand times.
I apologize if this is 1001 but at this point I think I have done my due
diligence and hope that someone out there can point me in the right direction.
I am trying to figure out how to configure the fvwm95-2 taskbar so that when
you maximize a window, the bottom of it doesn't get hidden.
I assumed that the easiest way to do this would have been to configure the
taskbar to AutoHide itself, but have not been able to get it to happen.
What I would really like is for it not to hide, but to only maximize to fit
above the taskbar.
Anyway, part of my confusion is that I keep finding a zillion rc files for
fvwm, fvwm95, etc. For example, on my system there is currently:
/etc/X11/fvwm95-2/fvwm2rc95
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fvwm95-2/.fvwm2rc95
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fvwm95-2/system.fvwm2rc95
Am I at all close?
Also, is there any way to make it put the cursor somewhere else
other than the top left corner of the window? I keep scrolling my
virtual windows around because when I activate a window using the
taskbar, I instictively start moving up and to the left (must be
what Win95 does)..
