Re: How to assign a name to the system?

I wish I knew the answer to this question.  (It would mean that
I know a heck of a lot more about Linux than I presently do.)
What I would do, though, is enter a hostname via control
panel and see if /etc/HOSTNAME gets created.  I've a hunch
it might.  OTOH, I had the file, which I did not create, after the
install.  The one-line entry was:  localhost

Somebody stop me if I'm giving out bad advice!  (Be careful,
this suggestion comes with no warranty.)
