I did upgrade Lyx to 0.10.7. I do recommend doing this to everyone else.
What I DO NOT recommend is using RPMs in this particular case.
They don't seem to be supported by the Lyx developement team:
there were no RPM versions of 0.10.3 to 0.10.6.
So, if you want to always enjoy the latest release, rely on
getting the source files from the Matthias's ftp site and compile them
yourself instead.
RPMs are great, but in certain situations developers don't bother
to convert their updated products into the rpm format regularly,
if at all, and Lyx seems to be the case.
That was my reason.
