I'm running RH 3.0.3, but ever since I upgraded some of the
packages to their 4.0 couterparts (in particular, the xview
packages) and upgraded to kernel 2.0, my nightly (cron I guess)
jobs sometimes run and run and run eating up CPU and memory until
they Segmentation fault. In particular, I've seen make whatis do
this. where should I look to see what is being run?
Any thing I should look for? I would include the configuration
files that control all this, but I don't know what they are.
I don't usually leave the system on overnight, so I've never
had reason to learn what its doing before. BTW, is any of
this in a HOWTO somewhere?

thanks,
Brock
