Suggestions for bubble-jet printers??

I am currently stuck with an old Star 9-pin dot-matrix printer that STILL
doesn't work correctly with Ghostscript even after recompiling the sucker
and adding every printer type available. So, I want to get a nice, new
bubble-jet printer that doesn't scream bloody murder every time I need to
print a document out at 3am and my wife is sleeping!
My question to all bubble-jet owning Linux users: Which brand/model
would you recommend that give the highest quality output using Ghostscript??
I was thinking about a Cannon, either BJC-600, or maybe one of their
(cheaper) B/W only models. I have read a few stories about people having
good luck with HP DeskJets. Suggestions??
