There _will_ be a LyX 0.10.8 somewhere down the road. It will probably
not be in the next couple of weeks, though that's not cast in stone.

LyX development is rapid, but I rather doubt you'll ever see a
lyx-0.10.22, since the development cycle is now adhering to the kernel
pattern. Thus, 0.10.7 is regarded as stable for now. There will be a
0.10.8 when there are enough accumulated bug fixes coming out of the
0.11.x development group that testing indicates won't break the stable
version. Then and only then will there be a 0.10.8.
In the meantime, the documentation, under the guidance & direction of
John Weiss, is being completely rewritten to improve it all the way
around. You'll see that fairly soon, I suspect. And, yes, I am
involved in the effort; I've written one of the translator tools
(text2lyx) and am involved in the documentation effort.
One of the efforts in the current development cycle is a major cleanup
of the source code, which is in c++. You'll quite probably see a shift
to use of the Qt X tools from Troll. This should be a nice one.
In brief; I'd suggest you _DO_ upgrade to 0.10.7. It is fairly stable;
there are workarounds for most of the known bugs, and it's rather nice.
Matthias and the rest of the primary team have done some wonderful
work on this.
Best!
