I have the same videocard and when configuring it the first time,
whatever I did, my monitor would just went blank and then into
a standby mode... until I upgraded my X. You should go to 
http://www.xfree86.org/ and download X11R6 3.2 or better wait
for RPM of it to appear at RedHat Web site.
