live list vs. digest

I find the way the digest is packed as MIME with PINE not upto the task 
of dealing with message attachments individually a PITA.  

You might as well get the live list if you split it to a folder with
procmail *except* if your net connection goes down intermittently the
digest will generate many fewer bounce messages.  I've recently had a 3-day
outage totally outside of my control and *didnot* get removed from the
list since I recieve the digest.  People getting the live list can get
removed in only a few hours of downtime should that happen when the list
is particularly busy.
