Boot Disk Problem

Ok... its me again. My problem with the boot disk didnt go away.
I was able to put a new kernel on the boot disk, using lilo 19.
Then when the installation process freezes, I looked at the other
virtual consoles and the one on F4 shows that my Adaptec 2940 was
recognized with no problem, as well as the HD, and the CD-ROM. It also
saw my current 3.0.3 partitions on the HD.
But on the other console, this is what I get:
* ... [previous stuff] ...
* creating directory /tmp rc = -1
* creating directory /tmp/rhimage rc = 0
* makeing device /scd0 (11,0) as /tmp/scd0 (That's my CD-ROM)
* calling mount (/tmp/scd0, /tmp/rhimage, iso9660, -1058209791, (nil))
* removing device file /tmp/scd0
* error in exec of second stage loader :-(
error: Permission Denied.
(the sad face is really there!). Anyways, anyone knows why does it remove
the cd-rom drive device file? what is the permission denied for?
The CD-ROM i am using is one that i recorded myself from the rh4.0
disttribution from the ftp site. I can access the contents of the CD-ROM
with no problem from RH 3.0.3 (as root only).
