We are testing the limits of CDE as we have time. You can
add functionality , as right by clicking on the mail icon
on the front panel, my desktop brings up Ishmail.
I can drag a .gif over to a reduced icon of Xv and wala.

If you are not running a system with Motif, then statically linked
files would be bigger and therefore longer to come up.
