the jed info files (jed-0.97.14-2.i386.rpm) are kept in /usr/lib/jed/info
rather than /usr/info. any reason for that?
has anyone a working setup to allow both emacs and xemacs to access info files
in alternate directories like /usr/lib/jed/info? I tried

(setq Info-directory-list
(append Info-default-directory-list
'("/usr/lib/jed/info")
'("/usr/info")
))
--
in my .emacs file but xemacs doesn't include the /usr/local/info dir even
though i have dir files in both directory and a symlink localdir pointing to
them... hints? I find it uneasy to install info files automatically... any
suggestions would be appreciated.
