This is my small problem. For the last 2 days the only entries in my
/var/log/messages have been
Dec 1 21:44:21 SATAN syslogd 1.3-3: restart.
Dec 2 21:53:57 SATAN syslogd 1.3-3: restart.
very weird.
During the last few day's the only changes to the system have been to
the rc.local, which I can't see as being the cause. Since I have noticed
the problem I have upgraded to sysklogd-1.3-26, which made no
difference.
When I type: "/etc/rc.d/init.d/syslog status" i get
syslogd (pid 405) is running...
klogd (pid 385) is running...
Also looking at the syslog.conf ( which I definitely didn't change ) all
looks sound and now I have run out of Ideas.
I would be very gratefully if any one could help a sincerer newbie out.
