Hi,

in the last year I did some installs from hd and you MUST
use 'RedHat' as the root directory name for the tree,
the last one for rh 5.2 I did from an ext2 partition,
some people reported problems from dos'ish ones,
so my suggestion is to try to use the boot.img + rescue.img
floppies to create first an ext2 partition and then transfer
to it all needed files from ftp or from dos, renaming the base directory
to the right way. (rpm's names doesn't matter... only the base dir
and some links for the install program).

This will be a little tricky, but I think is possible.

If not you could try to use boot floppies from slackware
to partition your hd and copy to it the RedHat tree.
But i never tried it.

Hope that helps
ciao fede
