Marshall, correct me if I'm wrong, but this message reads as if you
have a misconception. XFree86-3.3.1-14.i386.rpm is the basic server
required for any X installation under Linux; you appear to have it
installed. XFree86-SVGA-3.3.1.i386.rpm is the specific driver for
a group of video cards; to drive a standard sVGA card you need both.
As you have stated your problem, it should be resolved by installing
XFree86-SVGA-3.3.1-14.i386.rpm in addition.
