The RPMs for the current binary GNOME release (0.30) have the solution
to this problem built in. You should install the 1.1 packages for gtk+,
gtk+-devel, glib, and glib-devel. Next, you should install the gtk+10
and glib10 packages, which provide the shared libraries needed by
executables (e.g. gimp) that, as currently packaged for RPM, use
gtk+-1.0, or whatever it is they use. You ought to be able to find all
these packages at GNOME's ftp area.
