Rich, it's vital that my machine also be Windows-compatible (I do a lot of
audio/visual stuff with devices & software not supported in Linux)... My
machine is already so loaded down that I almost can't even fit it all in a
full-tower case. All my PCI and ISA slots are full, so I'm sharing more
than five IRQs... It was a huge balancing act just getting everything to
work under Win98, and I had to hand-assign some IRQs, as well as disable
my USB port (I'm not using it anyway -- yet). Wouldn't the addition of two
more serial ports cause even more IRQ problems? How did it work for you?
I've never added a "port" card, be it a gameport card, or USB card or
whatnot...
