I've accepted a job at Red Hat Software to help them put together
their distribution. To avoid any appearance of wrongdoing, I wanted
to let everybody know that I'm working for them and how my new job
will affect sunsite.
In short, it won't. Not at all.
I have however given up writing the Distribution HOWTO. That will now
be handled by Eric Raymond.
If you like, you can stop reading now and go back to your regularly
scheduled news.
Here's more assurances then about things I promise *won't* happen:
1) sunsite won't be moving anywhere
2) I'm not going to go erase all of the other distributions from sunsite
or put a message there plugging Red Hat
3) Any CDROM vendor will be able to distribute CDROM's of sunsite.
Red Hat won't be, so there will never be "official" and "unofficial"
versions of the archive. All CDROM's of sunsite are made w/o my
participation and it will stay that way.
