Networking on Linux

One of the key reasons for getting Linux in the first place is for its
built-in networking support, and the reported ease with which it can be
configured. Many of the popular applications, such as Mosaic, Gopher, and
even things such as e-mail and Usenet News, require a network connection in
order to function. We will demonstrate how Linux is well-suited for such a
task, as it can adapt quickly to support many different types of net hookups.

Topics to be (hopefully) discussed and demonstrated on the big screen:

	- what packages need to be installed from the distribution
	- kernel configurations for net awareness
	- setting up Linux for a direct EtherNet connection
	- setting up Linux to use SLIP / PPP
