        As far as whether or not(and how)APO should take a stand on ANY
issue, such as the membership policies of the BSA, GSUSA, etc., on public
and governmental displays of racisim, on the subject of lesbigay rights, or
anything else, I want to remind you of a portion of our Articles of
Incorporation(exact location escapes me)that states we are not founded for
the purpose of being political.  What I mean to say is that we are to solve
those problems within our Fraternity, and solve them nationally as
participating citizens, but NOT IN THE NAME OF THE FRATERNITY!

        The fact is, not all of us think alike.  Sad but true, we do not all
cast off our prejudices when we become Brothers in this Fraternity.  For the
Fraternity to nationally make a statement one way or another on some
political issue is in violation of our purpose.

        I welcome comments on my views.
