The following are the required service hours for Mu Chi chapter for fall 1993:
10 Book Exchange (5 for each of 2 weeks)
4 Fundraising
1 Scouting
6 Float (3 for each of 2 weeks preferred)
9 Service to others
----
30 total
In addition, brothers must attend:
2 projects in October
2 projects in November
1 project in December
The service to others hours is something new this semester. Brothers tended to
get their misc. hours from the float or fundraising or the book exchange. This
way we could be sure that service outside of the chapter was performed. And
the project requirement is also something new, to ensure that we don't
encounter one of two situations we had in the past: a)nobody shows up to late
semester projects because they have gotten the required hours, or b)too many
people show up to projects late semester even when a limit of people has been
requested by whoever we are helping. It's a shame to have to turn people away
from the service but we've had to...
