Alpha Phi Omega's very first national office was Box 360, Wincester
Virginia. This was Frank Reed Horton's home town...
The Post Office in Wincester at the time was at the intersection of
Braddock and Piccadilly St. (Actual address 40 W. Piccadilly St.). The
Post Office sold this building in 1982 and now it is a Bank. (Bank of
Clarke County - Winchester branch). The intersections actually rather
busy now, Braddock is US11 at that point and Piccadilly is US 522.
It's less than a mile and a half to the nearest Alpha Phi Omega charter,
the inactive Upsilon Tau chapter at Shenandoah U. Closest active chapter
however appears to be Alpha Gamma Chi chatper at Frostburg State U. (MD)
Just as Brainerd Hall was reconstructed, when the Post office sold the
building the post offices were removed. However, one of the workers at the
new Winchester post office was responsible for the PO boxes at the old
location, he says that he could probably locate it to within a couple of
inches if he had to...
