Still looking for something to do? Preferably THE APO event of the summer?
Then come to the Section 88 Summer Picnic Weekend in the Capital District of
New York State!

Friday is a kickoff with getting a group to see the local minor league
baseball team in a game. Meet at RPI's student Union by 5:30pm. All those
who go get a free baseball souvenier from the ballpark (or other giveaway of
the night). Cost is $4.

The picnic itself will begin at Grafton Lakes State Park (11 miles east of
troy on route 2) sometime between 10 and 11 and will last anywhere from 5pm
to dusk. Food will be served, and there plenty of activities around: sports,
hiking, swimming and boating to name but a few, so be sure to bring
swimwear, towel, folding chair/blanket and sunscreen. For kids, a playground
is adjacent to the picnic area. I need some people to join me in the park at
8am to hold the site and help set up. Cost to enter the park was $6 per
vehicle as of last year. Cost of event is $5 per APO adult, with children
and prospectives free. Bring a dish in lieu of the $5 also. (Let me know if
you can contribute food). See driving directions below.

Sunday, noon, is the Food bank project. Help sort food and supplies for the
needy. A section favorite! Further details at the picnic or contact Ed
Pollack at 518-221-0387.

Need housing? Apartment crash space is available. please bring sleeping bags
and other comfortable things to sleep on. contact Ed Pollack (518-221-0387)
or Rich Vehlow (518-273-3451 home, 518-577-3822 cell) for further info.
