Bros.
I have heard this explanation of "Title IX" before
from the Bros. at Stanford and others. Cool. As I said
in my reponse to the S&S committee, It's water under
the bridge and we accept it. No problem. What we want
is to preserve that part of our fraternal heritage
that is NOT against any particular law or policy.This
is a somewhat grey area. There is a perception that
the rules change from case to case. I agree with
Brother Rashid Darden and others who say that we
should somehow have some standardization of pledge
requirements and procedures. You will find that we
probably agree on most points. HBCU chapters did WAY
more than haze.That is a myth. Our history (20
Founding Fathers,Lafayette Univ. etc.) and Service was
stressed above all. Who could have a problem with
that? Just like in America, we are more alike than we
are different but we don't know it because we don,t
communicate enough with each other. I too look forward
to the Fellowship. As the biggest frat. there is no
way we will all agree on everything but we can try to
address the perception that some Brothers are
"preferred" over others. Hope to meet you.
