I was going over some of the legislation recently and there's some
really interesting legislation before the Service & Communication
Reference Committee. First of all, what do y'all feel about the proposal
to change the title of, "National Service Week," to, "National Fall
Service Event?" This would be R-02-155. R-02-156 is quite similar;
moving NSW from November to the last week of October to coincide with
the national "Make A Difference Day." Any thoughts?

Also, there are a lot of good ideas for National Service Week themes.
Does anyone have any preferences so far. Any ideas on possible service
projects for any of them? Here are the proposed NSW Themes proposed so
far (keep in mind that they are Resolutions, so if anyone else has any
*other* ideas for NSW themes, it's not too late to submit it to the NED
(only by-laws amendments, toast song, etc, must be submitted 90 days in
advance).

NSW Theme Proposals:

1. Service To America

2. Service to the Health & Welfare of the Youth of All Nations
2003: Education & Prevention
2004: Treatments & Cures

3. Get Fit America: Building a Sound Mind & Body
2003: Building a Sound Mind
2004: Building a Sound Body

4. Breaking the Silence
2003: Child & Youth
2004: Adults & the Elderly

5. Literacy: From the Home to the School
2003: Family Literacy
2004: Literacy in the Classroom

6. Vehicular Safety & Academic Excellence

So what are your thoughts on any of these themes?
