You are correct to remind us that this is an organization by and for
undergraduates. When I was an undergraduate I experienced nothing but
tyranny and imperialistic oppression from my own frat Bros. who were in
National Officers. (1100 Waltower KC MO, before Indepence MO) These bullies
errr Brothers, all of whom were Alumni and some of whom DIDN'T EVEN
PLEDGE!, didn't care about the pain and suffering they were causing to us
undergraduates. They never once took our feelings into consideration. They
imposed their will on us, against our wishes. Thats why these issues won't
die, because nothing was EVER done to try to work through these challenges.
Like you say, it's coming up again and it will be again and again until
they give us a better reason than because we said so! I want to be there to
comfort and support those under graduates who are still experiencing the
tyranny of the majority. It's rough plegeing a frat. and then finding out
that your National officers spend their every waking moment trying to make
your life as miserable as the possibly can. Thank God we had SOME Brothers
who actually loved us or our college fraternity experience, left to our
National officers, would have been 100% hell and 0% fun instead of a
slightly better ratio. Contrary to popular perception there are single-
genderist chapters, Brothers and partitioning groups who would be glad to
know that some of the alumni support and love them as opposed to desiring
to destroy them (which is exactly what tried nearly did to us).As I always
say, I respect and love all of you as my Brothers but respectfully, I
cannot agree with every dictatorial policy our Board implements just
because they think they are Moses coming from the Mountaintop with the
correct way of being an APO written in (their) stone.
