I know last year after the tragic school shootings there was much
discussion on the list of what we could do. The answer is prevention. We
can involve kids with our service projects, provide positive contacts and
be good role models long before problems ever arise. I wanted to share
with you an opportunity to have a positive interaction with a class of
kids. It's only a small start, but, hey, it's a start.

This isn't a chain letter. The mother of the girl is a friend of a friend
and the project is legitimate. I did this a couple years ago for the
friend who is a school teacher. Only that time it was a stuffed elephant I
was taking pictures with. It's a really neat way to teach kids about other
people, places, and things. After you get Flat Stanley, take the picture
and do a quick little write up of what Stanley spent the day doing with
you. Good time to describe your job and where you live. Heck you can
e-mail her the write up even if you don't get Stanley. Have fun with it.
I'm sure Cami will be grateful for your help. Her e-mail is in the last
paragraph.

(This letter originated Aug 29, 1999. The project is only for the duration
of the fall 1999 term. Please keep this information included if you
forward the letter. We don't need it to become a chain letter.)

Hope others of you will share projects like this with the rest of us.

In Brotherhood,
Chris
