First of all, one of the primary root causes in any argument over violence
is poverty, even before media. You make a fallacious assumption, and I seek
to disabuse you of it. Besides, Barney is a great source of anger to those
of use between, say, 7 and 20.

It's not, nor did I make that statement.

I was making a *qualified* generalization, where I used the term "viewed
as", not, "they are." The title is apporpriate with the qualifier. Left Wing
simply means the strong side of liberal. A significant portion of the public
believes in some form of gun control, granted. So do I, and I am very proud
to be a rank Sharpshooter within the NRA. The term "some degree" is a very
poor one. Under the same guise, alot of the public agrees with some degree
of pro-choice and pro-life values. Translation: the Average American is in
the moderate middle. No news. Gun Control from left and right is a
hotly-debated issue. However, given the context of the original post, and
hte chapter being chewed out by some gun-control loony-toon, the designation
of "left wing" was, IMO, appropriate.
