Brothers,
I could use any and all advise that you all can give me regarding the
following situation at the University of West Alabama. See email below. Is
there anyone living in the Mississippi area that might be able to help them.
The school is located about 20 min from Meridian.

We're having some problems, and could probably use some special attention
from state and national staff. We've been having membership problems for
about a year now and our numbers are down and falling. Want to know why no
one showed to sectionals? It's because no one's active. We have no idea
what's causing this problem, but like I said, we could use attention.
We've got money. We just don' t have a treasurer. We also don't have a
president, and out service chair is inactive.
Part of the problem is based on the fact that the school is being really
hard on all of the students right now, encouraging them to take maximum
loads in their courses because of the transition from quarters to semesters
arriving in the fall. Secondly, no one is staying involved. The list of
people that you sent me, telling of the people that have recently gone
through: this quarter, none of them have come to meetings.
There are 4-8 people at meetings now, and of the most active, two or
three are about to graduate.
Here are the main problems I see, with no suggestions:
Membership retention is very low. We get a lot of people going through, but
we have nobody staying in.
Little to no interest in social projects.
No interest in service projects, but no service projects either, so no real
loss (theoretically)
Zero alumni support.
Weak officers, weaker officer communication.
We just need some active support from the outside because the ones that
really want to support the inside are all about to leave. If things don't
change: one year, tops.
