It wasn't... Kappa Beta decided to use the more traditional, pre-1967
name
this time around. You'll have to ask them there reasons personally.
Maybe it's a sign of Region I pride :)

Calling it Conclave is a bit of tradition that goes back to our scouting
heritage. Every Section had Conclave's before the 1968 National
Convention
from what I've been told. At that point there was a nomenclature change.
New England keeping the "Conclave" name is a bit of history I've got no
idea on. Possibly it has something to do with the fact that the Section
Chair at the time Harry Smullins was a district exec, either way I think
it's a nice tradition :)

Section 94/95/96 made a concious decision in the Fall of 1971 to
continue using the traditional name "Conclave". It's no different but it
is a mark
of pride. :)

correct, and a sign of our strong ties to scouting at the time.

you bet! :) Everyone has sectionals... *yawn* 51 others a year... only
*WE* have Conclave :) Well now us and NYC... but since we know all of
them
it's just more of US :)

Conclave,
New York Conclave. :)
