Pretty standard, but are there any chapters out there that get a more
receptive response from doing it a different way?
Bev,
Omega Epsilon chapter has our meetings in the same format. Is it possible
that the chapter members feel the meetings are too "businesslike" and not
very fun or enjoyable? That happened to our chapter a few years ago, so we
changed a bit. The meetings still had the same format, but things were not
run as strictly. This might work well for a smaller chapter (if that's what
they're interested in) but for us, the additional background chatter and
off-topic comments just caused the meetings to run later, which people
seemed to hate more than a highly structured meeting. APO is a rather
formal organization, and it is my humble opinion that it needs to be run
formally at times. There are times for fun and play, and times for serious
work...I feel the business meetings fall under the latter category.
