Though we (Alpha Phi, Washington U. St. Louis) have not yet actually run
any nationals fundraising events yet, we are planning to do so. This will
be an attempt to subsidize the rooms, conference fee, etc. One of the
requirements is that anyone who will benefit from the fundraising must
participate. Though I can understand that some people may not wish a
chapter to fundraise just so that a few can attend nationals, fundraising
will let more people from our chapter attend than might otherwise. Also,
if there were no fundraising, then delegates must be chosen only from
those people who are able to attend by their own means. We'd be happy to
let you know what events we have which work! Some traditional favorites
are car washes (especially over Parents' Weekend) and ice cream sales.
That is, we've got a local custard stand (Ted Drewes) who makes
medium-size ice cream cups, and we'll sit outside the cafeteria and sell
during lunch time.

Hope this helps!
