Hi,
I should have introduced myself when I got on the list, but I didn't so I
will introduce myself now and also ask my questions. My name is Akila
Sankar and I am a brother of the Delta Kappa Chapter at Emory University.
Delta Kappa has not had many fundraising activities (or a fundraising
chair) for over ten years and so as the Fundraising Chair this semester, I
am faced with an interesting challenge --- creating and implementing ideas
that we have never done before.
So, here are my questions:
(1) Has anyone here ever done the "Ugly Man on Campus" activity? Did you
make good profits (or in other words, is it worth doing?) How did you do
it?
(2) Does your chapter provide funding for those people who want to attend
Nationals or does each person pay for themselves? This has become a big
issue in our chapter and I am very interested in what the rest of you do.
(3) Have you done any fundraising activities that has worked phenomenally
well? Unfortunately, Emory does not have a football team and our sports
program is not well attended, so we cannot really do things like selling
concessions and half-time activities.
I would appreciate your advice,
thanks,

akila.
