      This is completely unreasonable.  The SIPB simply does not have the
      space to keep around 90 megabytes for emacs 19.

I've been using that space because emacsdev typically hasn't had
enough free space.  It looks like some space has freed up though, so I
probably will be able to fit at least two or three versions in there
now, if I delete the older stuff that's there (which people may be
using, so I want to phase it out somewhat slowly).

I'll try to move it out sometime soon.

But I've got more going on in that volume than emacs; some discuss
hacking too.

   Emacs 19 is a worthwhile project.  There are people at MIT who want to
   use it.  Since the SIPB's purpose is to provide service to the user
   community, if we can make it available to users, it seems to me that
   we should *find* space for it.

I agree, although getting the space from Athena is even better.

   In any case, a polite request asking Ken to try to be more
   conservative in his disk space usage would have gone a lot farther
   than the mail you sent.

Yup.  Sending polite mail to me at Cygnus also might've helped.
